The International Ship and Port Facility Security ISPS Code
Following the events of September 11, 2001 in America, was created the ISPS Code by the International Maritime Organization, which aims to provide a regulatory and consistent risk assessment framework and prevent vessels, cargo and passenger facilities from terrorist attacks, allowing governments to increase coordination, international protective measures necessary to meet the new threat being made.

Regarding the ISPS CODE, it must designate security officers previously trained and qualified. Also requires shipping companies to make contingency plans based on security assessments, in order to prevent potential terrorist acts.

HINSIB as Recognized Organization provides audit services to audit and certify that actually has a system and of the ISPS ship security remains tight. Avoiding your vessel being named unprotected which is the term to stop a ship.
